Have you ever asked yourself ‘what really matters’ or ‘why are we here’? Well, you’re not alone because many of us do. The answer may surprise you!

However, what’s more relevant are our feelings. Have you ever felt empty and bored? Would you embrace change or fear it?

Do you know why Buddhists are happy people (think of his holiness the Dalai Lama)? It’s because they empty their minds of material things, then refill them with compassion, kindly love, and gratitude.

The secret of the Buddhist’s tranquility is their devotion, not least a devotion to share their insights with other less holy humans to help alleviate their earthly sufferings. This is their path to Nirvana – their purpose in life, utterly and totally embraced.

If you are a little lost right now, you don’t have to go out and become a Buddhist. Oh no, all you have to do is to find your purpose.

Some people say we are not meant to be happy – this is a Nihilistic approach – life without objective meaning – a purpose – is an empty life, guaranteed to engender disillusionment, despair, and depression. How can you love yourself when theseĀ  emotions are dominant? They breed fear, and fear is the mind killer!

Contentment doesn’t just happen, it is a result of the sub-conscious state – which is affected by our conscious thoughts and emotions.

To change your sub-conscious state you must find and embrace your purpose. Steve Pavlina has a useful formula for finding your purpose in 20 minutes, although it may take a little longer for the deep rooted nihilists amongst us.

When you have found your purpose develop a mindfulness mindset, that is – a calm awareness of one’s body and feelings, the content of your conscious thoughts. Knowing and embracing your purpose will develop positive conscious thoughts which leads to the more powerful positive emotions…

  • Faith
  • Love
  • Enthusiasm
  • Romance
  • Hope

…which will change the complexion of your sub-conscious mind.

I asked you earlier whether you would embrace change or fear it. Well, I’m here to tell you that if you fear change, you will always live in fear because the world is in a constant state of flux – nothing remains the way it is.

Open your mind to an expanded way of looking at yourself and the outside world. Find your purpose and I guarantee that you will change and become unrecognizable from the person you once were!

Do you know what really matters – YOU! How can you develop relationships, love and be loved if you don’t love yourself! Impossible!!

It’s time to ditch the old floating along you with it’s negative emotional baggage, and to find your purpose. Use your imagination to see that you can be/do anything you want. Change is inevitable my friends. ;)
